Request Free Smoke Alarm Installation & Education - Central California Region Madera & Mariposa Counties

The American Red Cross is an impartial, neutral humanitarian organization with the mission to prevent and alleviate human suffering through our preparedness programs and disaster response activity. Sound The Alarm On Demand seeks to #EndHomeFires by making homes safer through installing reliable smoke alarms and education here in Central California. 

Residents requesting free smoke alarms will receive a tamper-resistant, 10-year lithium battery and home fire safety education all free of charge. 

Upon submitting your request, you will be contacted by a Red Cross volunteer. This program is run by the power of volunteers and through the generosity of sponsors and donors. Appointments will be scheduled around the availability of our volunteer team. When requests are made, please allow 1-2 weeks on average to be contacted by a volunteer to schedule your appointment. Please keep in mind this program is in extreme high demand and is run 100% by volunteers who are working hard to make homes safer.

A number of organizations are partnering with the Red Cross to help install smoke alarms as part of our Home Fire Campaign. Depending on where you live and other factors, it is possible that the Red Cross will share your request with one of our partner organizations so they can contact you to set up an appointment.
