FD: Employee Engagement with the American Red Cross

Partnership Opportunity

Employee Engagement with the American Red Cross

Enable your employees to give more, and your company gets more—more workplace satisfaction, more enthusiasm, and more high fives when you’re working side-by-side to help others. That’s because Americans who volunteer through their jobs say that the volunteer time makes them feel better about their employers.

Volunteer in support of the Red Cross mission

Home Fire Campaign – Sound the Alarm, Save a Life

Every day, seven people die in U.S. home fires, most in homes that lack working smoke alarms, with children and the elderly disproportionately killed. With the help of your employees, we can reach vulnerable communities across LA County. Volunteers go door-to-door meeting with families to complete a home safety checklist, help them develop a disaster plan and install free smoke alarms.

Kit Builds

Kit builds are fun and engaging events designed to help deepen your employees’ understanding of the Red Cross and its mission. Your company will have the opportunity to choose between a Preparedness Kit Build (disaster emergency kit) and a Comfort Kit Build (donated to service members and veterans in need).

Missing Maps

Missing Maps digitally charts the most vulnerable places in the world. Your employees can help us reach our goal by putting 200 million vulnerable people on the map by 2021. Host a Mapathon with the Red Cross to prepare communities and help save lives.

Lunch & Learn

Did you know the Red Cross responds to 180 disasters each day and has helped vaccinate more than 2 billion children worldwide against measles and rubella since 2001? Host a Lunch & Learn event to learn more about the work the Red Cross does in your community, across the nation and around the world.

Give blood and ensure a life-saving supply

Blood Drives

When your organization hosts a blood drive with the American Red Cross Blood Services, you help meet the need for lifesaving blood in your community and across the nation. The Red Cross makes hosting a blood drive easy with a dedicated representative who can provide tools, resources and guidance to make your drive a success.

Bring disaster preparedness to your employees

This engaging class provides basic information on preparedness for disasters such as earthquakes, home fires and wildfires. Participants will learn about assembling a disaster supplies kit, developing a home escape plan and how to be informed about disasters and other emergencies. By the end, you’l beable to say:

“I’m Ready.”

Pillowcase Project

The Pillowcase Project is our signature youth preparedness program implemented throughout every Red Cross region. The Pillowcase Project teaches children in grades 3 through 5 (ages 8 to 11) coping skills for life-saving personal and family preparedness. Engage with your employees and register for our train-the-trainer program. Give back in a meaningful way by helping the next generation of youth become more prepared and resilient.

Safety Training

When a loved one’s heart stops or a child is pulled from the water and no longer breathing, a Red Cross-trained family member or bystander can be the difference between life and death. Lifesaving training— successfully provided by the American Red Cross for more than a century—is what makes communities safer and more resilient to all kinds of emergencies.
