College Intern Application

Thank you for your interest in interning with the American Red Cross!

An internship with the American Red Cross provides students the opportunity to gain leadership, communication, and practical skills in a professional setting and in their areas of interest, while serving their communities. Students' help gives the American Red Cross the ability to better fulfill its mission and services to the community by benefiting from the skills and dedication of a committed group of student interns. Through training and mentorship students will:

  • Gain professional experience and exposure to the non-profit sector
  • Work with and develop department specific projects/responsibilities to carry-out the Red Cross mission at the local level
  • Receive networking, personal and professional development opportunities

We are looking for students currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program. All internships/academic service learning (ASL) positions are unpaid, and they can be taken for credit (intern) or non-credit (ASL) depending on the student’s needs. An individualized intern/ASL agreement will be created for each student specifying the work they will be doing as well as how many hours they will be working. In general, students are expected to work 10-20 hours per week.

Within the Greater Cincinnati-Dayton Region, there are several offices that offer intern programs. Available positions vary according to the needs of each office, but the program typically offers opportunities in almost every Red Cross department.

If you are interested in an internship with the American Red Cross then apply today! Interns are accepted on a rolling basis. Once this online application is submitted you will receive a confirmation email and your application will be reviewed by our staff.

More information about our internship program is on the internship information page on the Cincinnati-Dayton Red Cross website.

If you have questions with any part of the application process, please contact Diana Wood at diana.wood@redcross.org
