Join our NHQ Multicultural Communications Team as Spanish Terminologist or Spanish Translator / Proofreader Interns. These virtual opportunities aim to facilitate the editing and translation process by researching and locating information from past publications which might help language staff produce high-quality translations and ensure the accuracy, appropriateness, and consistency of usage of terms.

NHQ Spanish Translator / Proofreader Intern (Fall 2025)

This internship supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Communications (COMM) department, specifically the Multicultural Communications team. This is a 100% virtual opportunity. The translator/proofreader volunteer will work closely with the Multicultural Communications Team to translate, and review written or spoken materials in English and Spanish. In this role, you must be fluent in writing and reading in both languages and able to understand everyday cultural nuances and phrases.
 

NHQ Spanish Terminologist Intern (Fall 2025)

This internship supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Communications (COMM) department, specifically the Multicultural Communications team. This is a 100% virtual opportunity. Goals for the intern during the internship include the following:
  • Industry Knowledge: The Intern will learn about the specific industry in which they are interning, including its structure, trends, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Company insights: The intern will gain insights into the organization including its mission, values, culture, and operations.
  • Professional communication: The intern will develop strong communication skills, both written and verbal, by interacting with colleagues, supervisors, and volunteers.
  • Teamwork and collaboration: The intern will have the opportunity to work in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues on various projects and tasks. Learning how to effectively contribute to a team, communicate ideas, and resolve conflicts will prepare them for future collaborative work settings.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking: The intern will be exposed to real-world challenges and problem- solving scenarios within their role. They will learn to analyze situations, think critically, and propose practical solutions. Developing these skills will be valuable in any career path they choose.
  • Technical skills: The intern may acquire specific technical skills relevant to the field of Spanish terminology and translations. These could include software proficiency, data analysis, programming languages, or other industry-specific tools or technologies.
  • Time management and organization: The intern will learn to manage their time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Developing good organizational skills and learning to work efficiently will enhance their productivity and overall career success.


Interns must have exceptional proofreading, grammar, and writing skills in both Spanish and English and understand common cultures and phrases in these roles. Interns must be available for a minimum of 10 hours each week during business hours.
