Volunteering as a Spanish Translator / Proofreader Volunteer or Spanish Machine Translation Post-Editing Volunteer for the National Multicultural Communications Team would be a great way to use your translation skills to support our Translator Hub.
This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Communications (COMM) department. This is a 100% virtual (volunteer-from-home) opportunity.
The Spanish Translator/Proofreader volunteer will work closely with the Multicultural Communications Team to translate and review written materials from English into Spanish. Volunteers play a key role in ensuring that all Spanish-language content is clear, accurate, culturally appropriate, and aligned with American Red Cross terminology, style, and messaging guidelines.
This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Communications (COMM) department. This is a 100% virtual (volunteer-from-home) opportunity. The Machine Translation Post-Editing (MTPE) Volunteer will work closely with the Multicultural Communications Team to review and edit written materials translated from English into Spanish. This role is primarily focused on post-edition of machine translated content. The volunteer must be a subject-matter expert in proofreading and will be responsible for post-editing grammar, syntax, punctuation, and terminology errors.
Volunteers must have exceptional proofreading, grammar, and writing skills in both Spanish and English and understand common cultures and phrases in these roles. Volunteer opportunities are flexible with an expectation that volunteers will commit to 3-4 hours per month.
