*Volunteer virtually to dispatch teams to help those affected by disaster

This position supports the Regional Disaster Cycle Services (DCS) department. Most of the 60,000 emergencies that the Red Cross responds to each year are local, personal disasters like home fires. Disaster Action Teams (DAT) provide emotional support, financial assistance, and information to help families begin the process of recovery. The Disaster Action Team (DAT) Duty Officer ensures timely activation and monitoring of local and regional DAT responses. The Duty Officer supports the DAT program either at the chapter/territory or region level.

*Volunteer to help families after a disaster

We urgently need volunteers who sign up for shifts to support local residents who have experienced a home fire or other disaster.

This position supports the Regional Disaster Cycle Services (DCS) department. Most of the 60,000 emergencies that the Red Cross responds to each year are local, personal disasters like home fires.

Disaster Action Teams (DAT) provide emotional support, financial assistance, and information to help families begin the process of recovery. The Disaster Action Team (DAT) Member supports capacity building activities necessary to ensure effective service delivery during a DAT response.

*Volunteer at blood drives as a Blood Donor Ambassador (16 yrs or older)

This position supports the Regional Biomedical/Blood Services department. This opportunity requires participation in in-person activities and/or performing work in a Red Cross facility. The purpose of the Blood Donor Ambassador is to provide excellent and enthusiastic customer service to enhance the blood donor experience. Engage with blood donors to promote blood donation and set the stage for a long-term commitment to regular blood donations. Assist donors with re-hydrating after donation and observe for post-donation reactions. Express gratitude and ensure each blood donor is sincerely thanked for their donation.

*Volunteer to support Military Families/Veterans

There are many volunteer positions that support Military members, their families and Veterans. For example: You can volunteer helping in Military Treatment Facilities* and at Veterans Administration (VA) Hospitals*

You can support events like-Military Stand-downs, Yellow Ribbon Events, Parades, Runs, Tabling and other similar events.

You can help virtual (volunteer-from-home) to ensure that military families know they are supported by the Red Cross from the first day in the military through life as a veteran. We have in person opportunities at the following locations:

Assists the implementation of the regional volunteer recruitment plan by performing volunteer recruitment activities to attract a skilled, talented and diverse volunteers workforce to service in all lines of business around the organization
