Remote/Virtual Volunteer Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Connect with Purpose: Schedule and conduct virtual Opportunity Review conversations to learn about how volunteers match their selected opportunities.
  • Match with Meaning: Use your understanding of volunteer interests, skills, and availability to recommend roles that fit, if the selected one(s) is not a match.
  • Stay Informed: Review selected opportunities and prepare for conversations using standardized training materials.
  • Keep Records Current: Update candidate profiles and referrals in Volunteer Connection, our online volunteer system.
  • Support the Mission: Help volunteers begin their journey with a line of business/department with clarity, confidence, and connection.

Qualifications

  • Warm & Welcoming Communicator: You enjoy talking with people and helping them feel heard and supported.
  • Organized & Reliable: You manage your time well and follow through on tasks with care.
  • Tech-Ready: You’re comfortable using online systems and learning new tools (training provided).
  • Service-Oriented: You’re enthusiastic about the Red Cross mission and helping others find their place in it.
  • Team Player: You collaborate well and stay connected with your team virtually.
  • Experience Matters: Customer service and/or HR experience is a plus—but your people skills matter most.
  • Virtual-Ready: You have reliable internet and a quiet space to volunteer from home.

Time Commitment

4 hours per week

Development Opportunities

Opportunities to work in a fast-paced and professional environment.

Working with deadlines and specific time-lines. Hone and develop

interview skills.

Experience towards working with Event Based Volunteers and Staff

Services on Disaster Relief Operations.

Length of Appointment

6 months, renewable
