This position supports the Regional Volunteer Services department. This is a 100% virtual (volunteer-from-home) opportunity. Oversee the utilization and access of Volunteer Connection, the official American Red Cross volunteer engagement system. Support departments in their knowledge and understanding of Volunteer Connection.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a champion and region expert of Volunteer Connection
- Lead team of Volunteer Connection team members who provide expert support and guidance in the utilization of Volunteer Connection
- Establish and ensure ongoing Volunteer Connection training calendar for Volunteer Connection team members across all departments and volunteer supervisors.
- Coordinate Volunteer Connection training, using American Red Cross training materials for volunteers and volunteer supervisors
- Provide leadership and delegation to team members
- Responsible for disseminating VCN information across region regarding planned VCN code releases, and ongoing support issues
- Serve as point of contact for regional technical support issues with VCN and when needed, contact Division VS VCN Lead for technical support
- Participate in efforts led by Division VCN Lead to represent home region and to collaborate with region VS VCN lead counterparts to share best practices, identify system enhancements, and join VCN project teams
- Partner with region’s VS Engagement Lead and LOS VCN Leads to identify system improvements to improve VCN for volunteers, supervisors, and department staff
- Member of the Regional Application Support Team (RAST)
- Coordinate with the Regional teams to assure commonality of Volunteer Connection data and procedures across the Division as well as ensuring the completion of scheduled tasks (running reports, clean-up actions, etc.)
Qualifications
- Reliable access to resources needed to volunteer 100% virtually
- Enthusiastic about Red Cross mission and programs
- Proven leadership in nonprofit or for-profit organization
- Work well both individually and with others
- Relevant, complimentary management and/or technical skills/operational experience
- Relationship building skills working collaboratively with staff/volunteer partners, and senior management.
- Understand the value of volunteers and provide leadership and support to ensure volunteers are productive and have a mutually rewarding experience
- Cultural sensitivity to diverse audiences
- Embrace organization point of view and maintain a positive and collaborative attitude - required
- Knowledge and understanding of Red Cross services and operations and opportunities for volunteer service
- Prior experience using Volunteer Connection administrative functions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills, preferred database knowledge
- Independently driven and well-organized
- Prior experience using Microsoft Excel
- Eye for continuous improvement, process orientated, open minded
Time Commitment
Approximately 4 hours per week, working remotely and on-site.

Length of Appointment
One year appointment, renewable annually based on satisfactory performance of position.
