LOCAL - Disaster Services: Logistics Team Member

This position supports the Regional Disaster Cycle Services department. The purpose of this position is to provide leadership to Disaster Cycle Services workers in performing logistics leadership during preparedness, response, and recovery within a region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate on team responsible for the execution of the logistics program within the region.
  • Support vehicle tracking, acquisition of materials, facilities and warehousing.
  • Additional duties as assigned, which could include:
    • Maintaining a list of all fleet vehicles
    • Ensuring routine maintenance is completed on all vehicles
    • Maintaining service records relating to vehicles
    • Ordering supplies
    • Facility inspections
    • Local procurement
    • Storing supplies

Time Commitment

This position is ideal for retirees.

  • Drivers License required with a willingness to drive vehicles of varying sizes including box trucks
  • Must be available during the weekday
  • Time commitment during the first 90 days of onboarding is 300 hours.
  • Time commitment after onboarding varies but can be up to 12 hours per week.
  • Commercial Drivers License (CDL) preferred

Required Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with proper moving of materials in a warehouse.
  • Ability to learn how to in identify, organize, plan & allocate resources.
  • Familiarity with or working knowledge of shipping, receiving and storing material.
