This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Information Technology (IT) team. This is a 100% virtual (volunteer-from-home) opportunity. This position will be used to help the IT Corporate Systems team complete their Jira environment buildout and continued maintenance.

- The Code4Good Volunteer is an enthusiastic team player who wants to support the Red Cross mission by contributing their software engineering talent and practical Jira administration experience to support internal software development and support efforts.
- Support the IT Corporate Systems team and projects using their Jira administration experience.
- Use their knowledge of JQL, Kanban/Scrum, and project administrator experience to continue building and maintaining the IT Corporate Systems Jira and Confluence environments.
Qualifications
Required:
- 2 or more years of Jira administration experience
- 2 or more years of Jira JQL experience
- Available at least one to two hours per month to attend meetings during normal business hours (Eastern time zone)
- Strong communication, interpersonal and mentoring skills
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment
- Atlassian Jira, Atlassian Confluence experience
- Reliable access to phone, computer, and internet
- Resume required
- Willingness to comply with current public health and Red Cross policies
Preferred:
- 2 or more years of experience with Jira integrations
- Product delivery within an agile methodology framework
- Git, Slack, or similar collaboration tools
Training
- American Red Cross Orientation Code4Good Orientation held the first Friday of each month.
- Volunteers are required to attend and complete the onboarding process.
Development Opportunities
Volunteers will have the opportunity to work in a busy IT department, while supporting the American Red Cross.
Length of Appointment
3 months minimum, renewable indefinitely as mutually agreed.
Time Commitment
- 1-2 hours per week during business hours (M-F, 9-5), required at the beginning of volunteer assignment to establish departmental needs and operations.
- After initial phase, most team communications can be handled via email/DM at 3-5 hrs. per week
