This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Finance department, specifically the Corporate Fleet Services team to help achieve sustainability goals through supplemental identification and acquisition of hybrid fleet vehicles. This is a 100% virtual (volunteer-from-home) opportunity.
The Volunteer Fleet Assistant is a supportive team member managing administrative tasks within the Corporate Fleet office, including internet research and phone calls with dealers.

Key Responsibilities
The Volunteer Fleet Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Corporate Fleet Services office by:
- Researching and sourcing alternative fueled vehicles
- Assisting with dealership outreach through phone calls, email communications, etc.
- Coordination of vehicle purchases with direct supervision from Corporate Fleet Services Director
- Supporting reporting requirements which may include ad hoc analyses, report development, and vehicle forecasting
- Provide general office assistance as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
- Reliable access to resources needed to volunteer 100% virtually
- Ability to work effectively as a member of the Red Cross team
- Knowledge and familiarity with using research tools (example: Searching the internet to research dealerships)
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written, including excellent phone etiquette.
- Well organized, responsible, trustworthy
- Attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task
- Familiarity with entering data and simple calculations in Microsoft Excel
- Willingness to comply with current public health and Red Cross policies
Preferred:
- Knowledge of Red Cross structure, services policies, and procedures
- Experience in alternative fuels (electric/hybrid)
- Experience in operational fleet management or transportation logistics
Training
- Orientation to the American Red Cross
- On-the-job training

Length of Appointment
Minimum 6 months, renewable dependent upon need, interest, projects, and skills.
