This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) International Services Response & Recovery department. This is a 100% virtual (volunteer-from-home) opportunity. This role will support the development of anticipatory action planning and implementation framework standard operating procedures and related tools. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop/refine anticipatory action planning and implementation process
  • Develop tools/resources for successful planning and implementation
  • Teach/train partner national society (PNS) stakeholders on tool usage
  • Support and inform country-specific socialization plans

Qualifications

Required:

  • Reliable access to resources needed to volunteer 100% virtually
  • Experience developing program/project plans
  • Ability to clearly explain complex issues to different audiences with varying levels of buy-in
  • Able to communicate well with a range of different people
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Experience developing standard operation procedures or program doctrine
  • Experience developing templates and/or job tools
  • Experience with process improvement
  • Comfortable developing project plans with minimal input
  • Ability to work with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty
  • Comfortable using technology like Teams, Zoom, etc.

The following training requirements are part of onboarding for the position:

  • Response and Recovery Concept of Operations

Length of Appointment

6 months, possibility of extension based on mutual agreement.

Time Commitment

6-8 hours per week, with at least 1 hour during normal business hours ET availability.
