This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) International Services Response & Recovery department. This is a 100% virtual (volunteer-from-home) opportunity. This role will support the development grant proposals, primarily to United States government (USG) entities, to fund anticipatory action. This role will also help develop standardized grant proposal templates to be used for future programs. Key Responsibilities

  • Research potential grant opportunities
  • Contribute to (write and/or edit) grant proposals aimed at securing funding for anticipatory action programs
  • Research other anticipatory projects and programs to understand sector and donor expectations (landscape)
  • Develop standardized tools for future anticipatory action grant proposals
  • Support creation of program funding strategies

Qualifications

Required:

  • Reliable access to resources needed to volunteer 100% virtually
  • Demonstrated grant writing or proposal writing
  • Effective communication skills
  • Experience developing funding strategy
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Resume
  • Submission of grant writing sample
  • Willingness to comply with current public health and Red Cross policies

 

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of and experience with USG grants and proposals
  • Experience developing templates and other standardized tools
  • Knowledge of anticipatory action and/or disaster mitigation and/or community resiliency

Length of Appointment

Time Commitment
