This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Disaster Cycle Services (DCS) department. This is a 100% virtual (volunteer-from-home) opportunity.
The Mission Adaptation Advisory Council (MAAC) provides relevant knowledge and experience that will help influence decision-making within Mission Adaptation and the Community Adaptation Program. This position is responsible for supporting and organizing Council activities, facilitating meetings with co-chairs, recording, and providing meeting notes, materials, and presentations.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating Advisory Council meetings with co-chairs
- Recording and providing meeting notes/minutes to the Council and Mission Adaptation NHQ team
- Working with the co-chairs to develop agenda for meetings
- Providing material and presentations at all meetings
- Attending the monthly Mission Adaptation Brown Bag to hear briefs and share information with the advisory council
Qualifications
Required:
- Reliable access to resources needed to volunteer 100% virtually
- Basic skills and comfort using a computer and saving/using different file types
- Experience using Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Teams and Outlook
- Willingness to comply with current public health and Red Cross policies
- Experience providing administrative support to a group or organization
Preferred:
- Background with coordinating meetings, activities, and people
Training
No EDGE based training; onboarding will include a demonstration of the work and a walk-through of the Standard Operating Procedures that the volunteer is expected to follow.
Development Opportunities
Based on skillset and background, may be able to get involved in other DCS NHQ Mission Adaptation related work.
Length of Appointment
Minimum 1-year commitment, with opportunity to renew.
Time Commitment
Monthly commitment, 10 hours
This a recurring commitment; hours may fluctuate between 0-10 hours/month depending on council activity and meeting volume
