This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Marketing (MKT) department, specifically the Enterprise Digital Marketing team. This is a 100% virtual (volunteer-from-home) opportunity. The Enterprise Digital Marketing team seeks creative and energetic volunteers versed in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), a vital part of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). You will join a dynamic team of individuals that are directly supporting applications that digitally deliver the Red Cross mission to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. We accomplish this primarily through public-facing applications at RedCross.org and Redcrossblood.org.

Key Responsibilities
Volunteers will be responsible to understand, document, and communicate software testing requirements, provide test estimates, create, review, and execute test cases, execute, and review test cases, create and submit test reports to stakeholders.
- Coordinate the planning, monitoring, and control of the testing activities and tasks.
- Collaborate with the other stakeholders; devise the test objectives, organizational test policies, test strategies and test plans.
- Lead, guide and monitor the analysis, design, implementation, execution and reporting of the test cases, test procedures and test suites.
- Schedule the tests for execution, monitor, measure, control and report on the test progress, the product quality status, and the test results.
- Adapt the test plan and compensate as needed to adjust to evolving conditions.
Qualifications
Required:
- Reliable access to resources needed to volunteer 100% virtually
- 3-5 years’ experience in digital marketing or related field (computer science, information technology, engineering)
- Software quality assurance, business analysis and/or systems/application testing experience
- Experience with user acceptance testing (UAT) software quality assurance (QA), business analysis and/or systems/application testing experience
- Experience working in a development environment that uses Agile methodology
- Ability to provide technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and resolving highly complex test problems.
- Adapt to and work effectively with a variety of stakeholders and in challenging situations, e.g. evolving priorities and tight deadlines
- An individual should have: Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrate the value of working collaboratively within a team and with internal partners.
- Desire to participate in and help build and strengthen a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of a complex business environment.
- Willingness to comply with current public health and Red Cross policies.
Training
Part of onboarding for position will include gaining familiarity on the Adobe suite of products, primarily Adobe Experience Manager
Development Opportunities
The volunteer will have access to various classes offered via the training catalog of our technology partner, Adobe.
Length of Appointment
12-16 weeks in a virtual work environment starting in January/Early February of 2023, with opportunity to extend
Time Commitment
- 7-10 hours per week between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm ET
- 12-16 weeks beginning in January/early February 2023 (with opportunity to extend)
