Support the American Red Cross International Services Department (ISD) Project Management Office (PMO) to structure and organize a functional SharePoint site in order to carry out their mission-critical humanitarian work. This position is remote, with the option of serving from the National Headquarters office located at 431 18th Street NW, Washington, DC.

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this volunteer position include:

  • Work with teams/users to organize and structure a functional and intuitive SharePoint site for the Project Management Office (PMO).
  • Migration of documents and data to the new structure
  • Clean-up of existing data

Ongoing site administration as needed, which may include:

  • Adding new features to site
  • Updating security and permissions
  • Adding new users
  • Updating the format of the site

The secondary responsibilities of this volunteer position include:

  • Participate in the development and/or communications of user guidance for the PMO and its customers.
  • Add ECOS under data management



  • Reliable access to resources needed to volunteer 100% virtually if not working from National Headquarters in D.C.
  • Demonstrated ability to comfortably and independently navigate IT systems  
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Availability to volunteer for 1-4 hours a week with at least 30 min. to 1 hour a week during business hours.


  • Experience with SharePoint administration or development
  • SharePoint certification helpful but not required


  • International Services provides standard orientation to the American Red Cross, International Services Department
  • The PMO will provide orientation to the unit.
  • Introduction to departments existing use of SharePoint and business needs
  • Possible other trainings on Percipio, ECOS, etc.

Length of Appointment

6 months, renewable

Time Commitment

1-4 hours per week depending on initiatives and deadlines; at least 1 hour/every two weeks during business hours in order to participate in calls and meetings with the Project Management Office.
