Expand hope across borders! As a Restoring Family Links Outreach Team Member, you’ll help reconnect families separated by armed conflict, migration, disasters, or other humanitarian emergencies. In this role, you’ll strengthen community awareness and build partnerships. Every connection you make demonstrates the Red Cross commitment to humanity and its Fundamental Principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a Connector: Build relationships with community organizations, faith groups, schools, and media to spread awareness of Restoring Family Links services.
  • Lead Outreach Efforts: Support and implement strategies that expand our reach and strengthen community resilience.
  • Grow Our Network: Identify and develop new partnerships to amplify impact.
  • Share Knowledge: Collaborate with Red Cross teams to exchange best practices and strengthen partnerships.
  • Champion Our Mission: Represent the Red Cross at events and presentations, inspiring others to join the movement.

Time Commitment

Times will vary depending on community events and presentations.

Development Opportunities

This position offers the opportunity to develop an array of professional skills including public speaking, networking, event management, logistics, community resilience building, capacity building for your chapter. In addition, the outreach team member is able to contribute meaningfully to a program which serves families who have been internationally separated due to crisis, conflict, migration and/or disaster.

Length of Appointment

1 year, renewable

Relationships

Key agencies include but are not limited to religious groups, schools, community groups, non-profits, coalitions, committees, government agencies, media contacts. International Services Leads in the Regions within your Division. Restoring Family Links team at National Headquarters, other International Services/Service to Armed Forces paid and volunteer staff.

Training

  • Orientation to the American Red Cross 
  • Restoring Family Links online training module in the EDGE Learning Management System
  • Restoring Family Links Outreach Workshop (highly recommended) 
  • On the job training from volunteer supervisor 
  • Restoring Family Links Classroom Training (recommended) 
  • The World of Red Cross and Red Crescent in the EDGE Learning Management System (recommended)
