This position directly supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) International Services (IS) Latin America and The Caribbean team.  This is a 100% virtual (volunteer-from-home) opportunity.  This online virtual opportunity will help to strengthen English communication skills at overseas locations for the staff and volunteers who work there.

Key Responsibilities

  • Virtually meet with local staff online to help improve English and Spanish language acuteness.
  • Engage in conversation with staff to further English proficiency.
  • Review reports and emails with the ability to edit, comment and help
  • Listen to employee English language presentations, making suggestions and improvements
  • If interested, volunteer may engage in an exchange where they converse in Spanish and receive feedback from local staff to improve their language skills.

Qualifications

  • Reliable access to resources needed to volunteer 100% virtually
  • Training and coaching experience
  • Strong writing and copy-editing skills
  • ESL teaching or similar experience
  • Spanish language experience strongly
  • Experience drafting presentations and/or proposals
  • Availability of 10-20 hours a month
  • Write and converse confidently in both languages
  • Promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion
  • Passion for the Red Cross mission
