NHQ:ISD-QDL-IM: Surge Information Management Support Technical Content Developer

This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) International Services department. This is a 100% virtual (volunteer-from-home) opportunity. This role will support the development of various program materials related to ISD Information Management SIMS, primarily focused on development and/or standardization of information product training/job tools. This role may work with other IM/SIMS stakeholders from other Red Cross/Red Crescent national societies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate technical guidance into visually appealing, dynamic and impactful learning content - job tools, tutorials, etc.
  • Revise technical guidance to have a consistent voice and standardized presentation Develop onboarding/orientation and learning pathways
  • Research and evaluate potential learning solutions from external resources and content providers
  • Assist with SIMS program documentation including standards and procedures
  • Support SIMS project lead with project management responsibilities
  • Develop version control plan to manage revisions and translations of materials

Qualifications

Required:

  • Reliable access to resources needed to volunteer 100% virtually.
  • Experience with developing curriculum including converting technical guidance into training materials or job tools.
  • Knowledge of instructional systems design, adult learning principles, and human performance improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to consult with internal subject matter experts on the design, development, implementation and evaluation of training/job tools.
  • Demonstrated project management skills to ensure timely delivery of solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communications skills, writing ability and verbal presentation skills.
  • Proficient with desktop publishing tools such as Adobe InDesign or Microsoft Publisher.
  • Willingness to provide relevant work samples in order to be considered by department for role.

Preferred:

  • Experience with interactive media design, video editing, animation, and illustration.
  • Experience in one or more of the following technical areas: information or graphic design, mobile data collection tools, GIS and cartography, data analysis or web visualization.
