NHQ:DCS - Regional Program - Project Manager

This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Disaster Cycle Services department. This is a 100% virtual (volunteer-from-home) opportunity. Project managers are the driving force behind the success of every key project or program your organization seeks to accomplish. This role will assist in aligning projects with our department program goals, assist in construct detailed work plans, manage teams, drive team to achieve milestones, and may communicate results across our stakeholder audience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain processes to manage scope over the project lifecycle
  • Assist in setting project quality and performance standards, and assessing and managing risk within, and across, multiple projects
  • Facilitate structure and manage integrated, multi-track project performance with an eye on overall progress
  • May develop and maintain partnerships with outside resources
  • Assist in tracking resources appropriately to streamline project efficiency and maximize deliverable outputs
  • Promote and assist in development of simplified project outcomes

Qualifications

Required:

  • Reliable access to resources needed to volunteer 100% virtually
  • Project management experience
  • Comfort working with a variety of management levels
  • Strong attention to deadlines and program guidelines
  • Experience with Trello for guiding steps in our internal processes
  • Experience coaching and educating project teams to strengthen team members capabilities and skill sets
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills

Preferred:

  • Professional certification (ex.: PMP)

Training

  • DCS Overview Concept of Operations
  • On-the-job training with supervisor

Length of Appointment

1 year with opportunity to extend for a second year.

Time Commitment

5-7 hours a week average

*Must be available to facilitate weekly Team meeting on Mondays from 11 AM - Noon EST.*
