This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Disaster Cycle Services (DCS) department, specifically the Disaster Workforce Readiness (DWR) unit. This is a 100% virtual (volunteer-from-home) opportunity. The DWR Technical Support Team Member is designed to provide technical support for the Disaster Workforce Readiness unit.

Virtual Assignment

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Workforce Planning and Engagement Tool including maintenance and development of new features
  • Support additional DWR dashboards as needed
  • Assist in data analysis requests
  • Responsible for design methodology and project documentation.



  • Reliable access to resources needed to volunteer 100% virtually.
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerBi, including developing visual reports and dashboards using Power BI desktop.
  • Experience connecting to data sources, importing data and transforming data for Business Intelligence.
  • Excellent in analytical thinking for translating data into informative visuals and reports.
  • Able to implement row level security on data and have an understanding of application security layer models in PowerBI.
  • Adept in developing, publishing and scheduling Power BI reports as per the business requirements.
  • Able to properly understand the business requirements and develop data models accordingly.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams.
  • Experience with Volunteer Connection reports and custom leadership reports.
  • Willingness to comply with current public health and Red Cross policies

Length of Appointment

Minimum 1 year commitment; renewable
