A unique opportunity to apply your compliance expertise in furtherance of the Red Cross' Mission to alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Office of the General Counsel (OGC) department, specifically the Office of Ethics & Compliance (OEC) team. This is a 100% virtual (volunteer-from-home) opportunity. This Senior Advisor position will play a central role in enhancing compliance risk awareness in order to empower Red Cross employees and volunteers to take action in support of the organization's humanitarian mission.

Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Senior Director to expand, re-imagine, guide and automate corporate compliance processes that are simple and sustainable.
- Provide meaningful and actionable advisory guidance (in individual case consultations as well as broader training contexts) on a variety of ethics and compliance issues (e.g., conflicts of interest, gifts and entertainment, abuse and neglect reporting).
- Proactively identify and analyze compliance risks and provide risk mitigation strategies and tactics that are clear, consistent, and actionable.
- Over time, conduct and/or consult on internal compliance investigations.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 7 - 10 years’ experience working in a compliance role with increasing levels of responsibility (corporate or law firm-based).
- Ability to identify, interpret and apply relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures to complex and diverse sets of facts and circumstances.
- Experience conducting internal compliance investigations.
- Facility with data aggregation and analysis, as well as trend identification.
- Intermediate proficiency with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, One Drive, PowerPoint, Outlook, and MS Teams.
- Appreciate and respect the need for confidentiality and the management of confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, which include the ability to provide guidance and instruction with tact and diplomacy appropriate for all levels of the organization.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to convey complex concepts simply and clearly, as well as focused on demonstrating credibility in the corporate compliance function.
- Access to a computer, telephone, and reliable internet service.

Preferred:
- Working knowledge of PowerBI
Training
Red Cross will provide all training required to perform the duties assigned.

Length of Appointment
Minimum six (6) month commitment, renewable as mutually agreed.
Time Commitment
- Work is anticipated each week and will sometimes time-sensitive.
- Estimate is 5 - 10 hour commitment per week.
- Flexibility as to how time is provided (e.g., during business hours, after business hours, weekends).
