This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) International Service Department (ISD) This is a 100% remote (volunteer-from-home) opportunity. The NHQ:ISD - OPS: Continuity of Operations Volunteer assists ISD and Services to Armed Forces (SAF) Business Operations by reviewing and editing documents and working with field staff to ensure a robust continuity of operations (COOP) plan, including Business continuity plan and related tools/doctrine. Primary responsibilities pertain to IS and SAF operations; however, the volunteer may be asked to assist the Business Operations department with other duties as needed.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist the ISD/SAF Business Operations department to review and assess current business continuity plans
- Research and analysis of business continuity templates
- Coordinate with international offices to ensure timely completion of documents
- Develop testing and training curriculum to maintain, follow up and train involved staff
- Draft and roll out of tools, guides and templates
Qualifications
Required:
- Reliable access to resources needed to volunteer 100% virtually
- Interest in emergency response, international disaster management, or military and military family support
- Experience and familiarity with basic concepts of business operations or continuity of operations
- Willingness to comply with current public health and Red Cross policies
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Experience working with diverse, international teams
- Willingness to do basic research and administrative support
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Self-starter, responsible, dependable, able to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable sitting for long periods and working on a computer
Preferred:
- Fluency in other document design programs
- International experience and/or knowledge of the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement

- IS-SAF Business Unit orientation
Development Opportunities
The volunteer may participate in ISD development opportunities made available to all ISD personnel that include volunteers.
Length of Appointment
Minimum 1 year commitment, renewable
Time Commitment
4-8 hours per week with availability during business hours
