This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Biomedical Services (BIO) department. This is a 100% virtual (volunteer-from-home) opportunity. The Employee Engagement Volunteer Partner’s primary responsibility is to provide leadership, strategic direction, event planning and execution, tactical tools and communications resources designed to enhance employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Biomedical Volunteer Workforce Engagement leadership team in achieving its Employee Engagement goals and performance targets.
  • Coordinate and assist with facilitating or leading meetings related to employee engagement, communicate, and strategize engagement goals and expectations, and report to the leadership team
  • Prepare materials for participants and provide/respond to evaluation and provide tech savvy, high-quality communication in-print and online, providing necessary reports in a timely manner
  • Develop relationships within the team that will assist with the scheduling of special events
  • Define, develop, and implement virtual staff engagement strategy and programs that lead to improvement in staff morale and engage survey results.
  • Host or plan virtual events using Teams only; plan a calendar of events for the year

Qualifications

 

 

 

Required:

  • Corporate experience in the field of communications or human resources
  • Experience producing or leading programs to improve staff engagement and satisfaction
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience producing online events using technology including Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint and social media platforms.
  • Experience leading or producing series of events unified by a theme or purpose
  • Experience cultivating relationships and persuading, convening, facilitating, and building consensus among diverse individuals.
  • Exhibits integrity, credibility and has a passion to support the department.
  • Recognizes needs and designs engagement activities with the cultural profile and diversity of the BVWE community in mind.
  • Reliable access to resources needed to volunteer 100% virtually

Preferred:

  • Knowledgeable and respected in their sphere of influence and particularly understands the organization Engagement goals, objectives, and current available services

Training

  • Orientation to the American Red Cross
  • On-the-job training with supervisor

Length of Appointment

Minimum 12 month commitment, renewable

Time Commitment

15-20 hours per month, during business hours
