NHQ:ISD - DIV - LAC - Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) Support Volunteer - Latin and Caribbean Division

This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) International Services Department (ISD) team. This position is 100% remote. This position will support the Program Support Unit Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Program Officer with programming and operations. The volunteer will also work closely with the LAC Regional Office. Support tasks will include updating documents, working with ECOS (grant management system), and ad hoc requests. This is an opportunity for the volunteer to learn about international disaster preparedness and response programming.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the review of proposals for copy editing, budgets, formatting
  • Participate in meetings
  • Provide assistance with data management
  • Organize SharePoint and other files
  • Help create Program Support Unit (PSU) tools to streamline work
  • Upload document to ECOS (grant management system)
  • Translate documents (non-certified) English to Spanish and Spanish to English such as fliers, brochures, project proposals, project technical reports, guidelines, service overviews and other documents provided by LAC Regional Office

Qualifications

Required

  • Fluent in Spanish writing, editing and speaking in a style that is neutral in tone/dialect, required
    • Note: A Spanish proficiency test must be completed as a part of the interview process for this position.
  • Experience translating English language materials into Spanish
  • Project management experience
  • Microsoft Skills, including PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Willingness to comply with current public health and Red Cross policies
