This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Chief Innovation Office (CIO). This is a remote (volunteer-from-home) position. The Bots and Voice Technologies Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer will focus on voice activated technologies and bots. The Innovation Team operates like a start-up within the American Red Cross focusing on leveraging technology and data to innovate. The QA Engineer will be part of this Innovation Team, focusing on writing and maintaining test cases, monitoring testing tools, and improving testing processes for voice skills and chat bots. The individual in this role must be able to function effectively with a high degree of independence and minimal direct supervision

Remote/Virtual Volunteer Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Update and maintain existing test cases for chat and voice products
  • Generate written test cases for use in automated testing tools
  • Track and report defects in reports provided by automated testing tools
  • Interface with product managers to identify new testing initiatives
  • Provide input and guidance on overall testing strategy for bot and voice products



  • Minimum 2 years’ professional QA experience working with digital products
  • Knowledge and understanding of QA methodologies and technologies
  • Experience with automated testing tools
  • Experience helping a team build and scale their testing processes and infrastructure
  • Willing to push boundaries and overcome obstacles



  • Excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Comfortable taking ownership and working independently
