This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Disaster Cycle Services (DCS) team, specifically the Disaster Services Technology (DST) units. This is a remote (volunteer-from-home opportunity). This position will support the NHQ DST team with web-based instructional design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize storyboard layouts to create web-based trainings.
  • Utilize Articulate software within the Rise App for course creation.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience creating courses using Articulate software within the Rise App
  • Detail oriented
  • Quick learner
  • Experience with instructional design and creating web-based courses
  • Experience and understanding of training development principles
  • Willingness to use and maintain a Red Cross email account
  • Eager to learn
  • Ability to work independently but also ask for help when needed

Preferred:

  • Currently has Red Cross email account

Training

  • Red Cross Volunteer Orientation
  • Appropriate on the job training will be provided

Length of Appointment

Minimum 1 year commitment

Time Commitment

5-10 hours per week. Flexible schedule, but some availability during business hours needed for check in meetings.
