This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Disaster Cycle Services (DCS) team, specifically the Preparedness Programs unit. This is a remote (volunteer-from-home opportunity). The Digital Accessibility Project Lead works to ensure Disaster Mobile Apps (Emergency, Hurricane, Tornado, Flood and Earthquake) meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAB). The WCAB are a set of recommendations for making Web content more accessible, primarily for people with disabilities—but also for all user agents.

Key Responsibilities
- Work with website design vendors to ensure Disaster Mobile Apps are up to WCAB 2.1.AA guideline standards
- Work with vendors to create strategy for updated website design to meet these standards
- Weekly meeting with supervisor to check in on progress
Qualifications
Required:
- Familiarity with WCAB 2.1.AA guidelines
- Experience with website or mobile app design
- Available for 10 – 20 hours per week
- Willingness to comply with current public health and Red Cross policies
Training
- Red Cross Volunteer Orientation
- Appropriate on the job training will be provided

Time Commitment
About 10-20 hours per week with a flexible schedule. (Some availability during business hours is needed for regular check in meetings.)
