VS: Nursing Network Team Member
This position supports the Regional Volunteer Services department. Nursing Network Team Members are volunteers with a health background who serve as team members led by the Nursing Network Regional Nurse Leader. They help recruit and engage health/mental health professional and other volunteers per Regional needs. They work closely with and support Volunteer Services team leads to meet regional goals.

Key Responsibilities
- Proactively support volunteer recruitment and engagement of health professionals to build capacity (e.g., nurses, mental health professionals and other health professionals per position requirements) across all business lines to support organizational and regional priorities.
- Engage with health care community regarding Red Cross volunteer opportunities
- Assist units in volunteer recruitment to reflect community demographics.
- Work collaboratively to achieve the Chief Nurse Initiatives.
- Regularly communicate nursing and health-related successes (e.g., awards, media coverage, projects) to Regional Nurse Leaders and/or send to RedCrossNurse@redcross.org
- Help ensure that health professionals submit all volunteer hours.
- Submit all hours in Volunteer Connection on at least a monthly basis and maintain an updated Volunteer Connection profile.
Relationships
Nursing Network, Volunteer Services, local nurses and other health/mental health professionals, Red Cross employees volunteers, external organizations, and the public.

Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered, active license as health professional (e.g. RN, LPN/LVN, EMT) or health related degree/expertise.
- Enthusiasm about Red Cross mission and programs
- Cultural sensitivity and awareness
- Willingness to become familiar with all Red Cross business lines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, work well on teams
- Understand the value of health professional volunteers in meeting the Red Cross mission
- Access to and ability to use telephonic and computer technology, basic office software (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, email), and social media for virtual interaction
- Willingness to comply with current public health and Red Cross policies.
Training
- Orientation to the American Red Cross
- On-the-job training from supervisor, as needed
- Familiarization with the Exchange and Volunteer Connection
