This is a 100% virtual (volunteer-from-home) opportunity. The American Red Cross Code4Good Project is a first-of-its-kind volunteer workforce that gives software engineers and engineering leaders an opportunity to support the Red Cross Mission. The Code4Good Volunteer is an enthusiastic team player who wants to support the Red Cross Mission by contributing their software engineering talent and practical experience to support internal software development and support efforts. This is a remote volunteer-from-home opportunity, with virtual teams collaborating through JIRA, Git, Confluence, Slack, etc This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Information Technology department. This is a remote (volunteer-from-home) opportunity.

Key Responsibilities
The Code4Good Volunteer is an enthusiastic team player who wants to support the Red Cross mission by contributing their software engineering talent and practical experience to support internal software development and support efforts.
- Design, code, and implement scalable applications using XML, SQL, C# and O365 products (SharePoint Online, Power Automate (Flow), PowerApps, PowerBI), including UX/UI, database, security control setup and documentation.
- Test and debug code and troubleshoot software issues.
- Customize and brand SharePoint sites, workflow design and custom web part design to meet business requirements.
- Follow standard operations and procedures.
Qualifications
Required:

At least 2 years of SharePoint Development experience

Experience developing new web components using tools like XML, .NET, SQL or C#

Experience implementing automated workflow solutions

Experience in Digital Automation; digital forms development and process improvement

Detail oriented

Access to a phone, computer and reliable internet Preferred:

Product delivery within an agile methodology framework

Git, Atlassian Jira, Atlassian Confluence, Slack, or similar collaboration tools
- Willingness to comply with current public health and Red Cross policies
Time Commitment
3-5 hours per week
Development Opportunities
Volunteers will have the opportunity to gain experience in a busy IT environment, while supporting the American Red Cross organization.
Length of Appointment
3 months minimum, renewable indefinitely as mutually agreed.

- Code4Good Orientation - held the first Friday of each month. Volunteers are required to attend and complete onboarding process.
