Greet donors with warmth, guide them through check-in, and express sincere thanks for their generous gift. You’ll be an essential part of team—each shift you take helps deliver hope and save lives.

Key Responsibilities
- Create a Warm Welcome: Greet donors with gratitude and positivity, setting the tone for a lifesaving experience.
- Guide the Journey: Assist donors through check-in for a smooth, stress-free process.
- Provide Exceptional Care: Answer questions and ensure donors feel valued for their generosity.
- Share Our Mission: Help donors understand how their gift saves lives and strengthens communities.
- Educate & Empower: Explain the importance of blood types and how each donation helps patients in need.
- Ensure Comfort & Safety: Monitor post-donation recovery and provide clear instructions for care.
- Express Heartfelt Thanks: Reinforce the impact of every donation and the donor’s role in saving lives.
- Stay Connected: Make friendly reminder calls to help donors reschedule and remain engaged.
- Maintain a Safe Space: Keep donor areas clean and sanitized, reporting any issues promptly.
- Adapt & Support: Deliver a consistent, mission-driven experience at both mobile blood drives and fixed sites.
Time Commitment
Most blood drives are six hours long during normal business hours, weekends are limited.

Qualifications
- Mission-Driven: You’re passionate about helping donors feel valued and ensuring lifesaving blood reaches patients in need.
- Age requirement: Volunteers must be 16 or older.
- Professional & Confidential: Able to maintain donor privacy and respond appropriately to concerns or adverse reactions.
- Strong Communicator: Comfortable engaging with people from diverse backgrounds and creating a welcoming environment.
- Tech-Ready: Confident learning about Red Cross tools and able to explain them to donors.
- Educator at Heart: Willing to learn and share information about donor optimization to encourage future engagement.
- Reliable & Flexible: Committed to scheduled shifts, punctual, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
- Health & Safety Focused: Willing to learn and follow current public health guidelines and policies.
- Language Skills: English required; Spanish proficiency encouraged in some locations

The following Red Cross trainings are required to serve in this role:
- Red Cross Volunteer Orientation
- Online Blood Drive Volunteer Training
- Ongoing training and refresher courses including Diverse Donor training
