Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities: Enthusiastic communicators needed! Use your passion for people to support the individuals who make our mission possible—our volunteers. 90% of all humanitarian work at the Red Cross is performed by volunteers, so on our Volunteer Services team you can help support the largest part of Red Cross’ workforce through a variety of different roles such as:

 

  • Volunteer Screener Team Member- help new volunteers navigate through the application process and match them with a volunteer role that aligns with their passions and availability
  • Volunteer Recruitment Team Member- be the face of Red Cross and help attract a diverse and talented group of future volunteers 
  • Volunteer Database Manager- work behind the scenes and become a subject matter expert for our online volunteer management system! Provide technical guidance and support to fellow Red Crossers and get an inside look at the structure of our organization!
  • Volunteer Recognition- be a part of thanking and recognizing our awe-inspiring volunteers by supporting projects like birthday and thank you cards and appreciation events
  • Youth Coordinator- support our incredible and passionate youth volunteers by helping to engage and create Red Cross clubs

 

Length of Appointment

6 months- 1 year

Time Commitment

varies based on position but generally ranges from 5-12 hours a month

Qualifications

  • Strong Communicators
  • Comfort using a computer and willingness to learn a new system
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Enjoys speaking 1:1 with individuals
  • Can be compassionate and passionate with diverse populations
  • Customer Service experience a plus but not required!
  • Enthusiastic about the Red Cross mission and willingness to learn the full scope of volunteer positions and opportunities
  • Have access to phone and computer
