Help keep our life saving mission moving! As a Blood Services Scheduling Volunteer, you play a key role in connecting volunteers with the blood drive opportunities where they’re needed most. In this fully virtual volunteer role, you support the Volunteer Workforce Engagement team by managing blood drive schedules, coordinating volunteer shift placements, and communicating with volunteers to ensure every shift is filled. Your work helps volunteers step into meaningful roles—supporting registration, the canteen, and temperature screening—and ensures blood drives run smoothly across the region.

Key Responsibilities
- Keep Schedules Flowing: Review schedules regularly to ensure shifts are filled and operations run smoothly.
- Connect With Volunteers Weekly: Reach out by phone, email, and text to recruit for open shifts, confirm assignments, and keep communication clear and supportive.
- Empower Volunteers to Self‑Schedule: Guide volunteers on how to use Volunteer Connection tools so they can schedule themselves confidently and independently.
- Support Shift Booking & Follow‑Up: Assist volunteers with booking and rebooking shifts including sending follow‑up emails and thank‑you calls.
- Resolve Scheduling Challenges: Manage exceptions and special circumstances with care, ensuring scheduling issues are handled quickly and thoughtfully.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Run reports and complete data entry to keep volunteer scheduling indicators and records up‑to‑date and reliable.
- Lead Rebooking Outreach: Support text campaign efforts by reviewing reports, identifying needs, and following up with volunteers to encourage rebooking.
- Build Strong Volunteer Relationships: Foster ongoing connections with volunteers to strengthen engagement and encourage future shift participation.
- Collaborate for Improvement: Partner with the Scheduling Lead to share insights and enhance scheduling processes across the team.
Training
- Onboarding with Blood Services Scheduling Lead, Biomedical Engagement Rep and/or Supervisor
