Biomedical- Onboarding and Training Lead- Virtual Position

This position supports the Regional Biomedical Services department. The Onboarding & Training Lead will manage a Biomedical Volunteer Workforce Engagement Onboarding and Training team who will initiate a relationship with new volunteers to the department and oversee regional training. The Onboarding and Training team engages with the volunteer by providing assignments matching their motivation and interests, while filling Biomedical open positions and meeting service delivery demands. The Onboarding and Training Lead will ensure that all candidates are interviewed, placed in a position, receive department overview, are introduced to their supervisor, and are assigned their training Regional training including instructor management and class management for the region. This includes course offerings to develop and promote the Biomedical volunteer workforce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise team responsible for onboarding and training volunteers in the biomedical department
  • With Biomedical Volunteer Workforce Engagement Onboarding & Training Team, develop and implement goals and objectives for volunteers as needed
  • Attend/lead relevant meetings and communicate pertinent information to appropriate partners
  • Serve as liaison between volunteers and employees
  • Identify, train, supervise and provide regular feedback to team members
  • Develop and review reports to detail team’s progress
  • Management of Opportunity Queue – Receive Referrals/Conduct Interviews/Approve volunteers
  • Assign and monitor EDGE Curricula
  • Management of the training reports
  • Make initial call to volunteers to schedule first shift
  • Participate in the annual Volunteer Workforce Planning process

Qualifications

  • Enthusiastic about Red Cross mission and programs, required
  • Cultural sensitivity to diverse audiences, required
  • Knowledge and understanding of Red Cross services and operations and opportunities for volunteer service, required
  • Work well both individually and with others, required
  • Comfortable using a computer, phone and access to internet at home, required
  • Basic Microsoft excel and word experience, required
  • Relationship building skills working collaboratively with staff/volunteer partners, required
  • Experience in interviewing and onboarding employees or volunteers, required
  • Experience in providing orientation or introductory trainings, required
  • Supervisory or management experience, required
  • Willingness to comply with current public health and Red Cross policies
