Key Responsibilities
- Receives nominations and arranges the coordination for award presentations: where, when and who will be presenting, etc.
- Create a run-of-show and talking points for award presenter.
- Ensure the award is printed, framed and signed.
- Arrange venue and needed items: appropriate location for size of audience, podium and/or microphone, Red Cross backdrop for photos, etc.
- Find volunteer to take pictures/video during the presentation.
- Invite the media and manage them the day-of.
- Craft a story for Red Cross website, social media afterwards.
- Serve as a main point-of-contact for National Lifesaving Awards Program and summit regional presentation photos.
Qualifications
- Enthusiastic about Red Cross mission and programs.
- Cultural sensitivity to diverse audiences.
- Relationship building skills working collaboratively with staff partners as well as board members, senior management, and other volunteer partners as needed.
- Organizational skills.
- Event planning and coordination.
Training
- Orientation to the American Red Cross.
- Learn about Lifesaving Awards Program.
- On the job training, as needed.

Length of Appointment
One-year appointment, renewable annually based on satisfactory performance of position.
Time Commitment
Variable dependent on number of nominations received. Average is approximately twice per year.
