Are you interested in helping your community following a local disaster? Maybe, you would like to be trained so you can respond to a large National response. The Disaster Volunteer is critical to assisting those devasted by a disaster in their recovery both here at home and around the country. Whether you have a couple of hours a week here at home, or can deploy nationally to a wildfire, hurricane, tornado, or flood, this position is where helping others begins.

Key Responsibilities
- Initial Position Awarded to all new Disaster Volunteers
- New Volunteers are asked to complete an initial training regarding how Disaster Cycle Services works and what opportunities are available for the recruit to assist.
- New Volunteers will be contacted to further determine the position that would best fit their interests in availability.
- Recruits should complete the training and report to their onboarding contact what roles they are interested in.
- Recruits will have an opportunity to learn all aspects of Disaster Cycle Services as well as what the immediate needs are in order to provide assistance
- Communicate progress and roadblocks to supervisor.

The new Disaster Volunteer will learn of all the positions and opportunities DCS offers at time of onboarding. Many opportunities are available to learn emergency management, leadership, project management and more.
Qualifications
No Previous Qualifications required. All necessary training will be provided
Training
Recruits are not required to have any previous training. Red Cross will provide training.
