Key Responsibilities

• Attend the IHL Youth Action Campaign training
• Submit a campaign plan to your coordinator
• Implement a campaign on an IHL topic in your community
• Collect campaign data and report in a timely manner.
• Complete the summary project

 

Relationships

Red Cross staff and volunteers, community members.

Development Opportunities

• Expand knowledge base about International Humanitarian Law
Build relationships with peers, Red Cross staff/volunteers, and community partners.
• Enhance leadership and communication skills

Qualifications

• Passion for informing your peers about important global issues
• Leadership, project management, and communications skills
• Must display flexibility, adaptability, initiative, and teamwork
• Must possess the ability to present politicized issues in compliance with the American Red Cross’s neutrality mandate
• Must be between ages 13-24
• Willingness to comply with current public health and Red Cross policies.

Training

• IHL Youth Advocate training by regional team coordinator
• Annually returning advocates will need to retrain with their team and the new thematic curriculum
