Key Responsibilities

Examples of positions that fall within our Disaster Recovery category are:

  • Recovery: Support the disaster recovery of individuals, families, and communities through the activities of Casework and Recovery Planning, Recovery Systems, and Community Recovery. Recovery members may do the following; conduct client interviews, assess qualifications for Red Cross assistance, document client info in national Red Cross client database, assist with recovery planning, problem-solving and advocacy, in addition to providing referrals to clients.
  • Disaster Health Services: Disaster Health Services Responders provide disaster health care by meeting the disaster related health needs of clients and providing support to other volunteers. Members must meet qualification criteria.
  • Disaster Mental Health Services: The purpose of this position is to provide Disaster Mental Health services to clients and Red Cross workers during preparedness, response, and recovery within a chapter/region. Members must meet qualification criteria.
  • Disaster Spiritual Care: The Disaster Spiritual Care worker provides disaster spiritual care support to individuals and families who have been impacted by a disaster. Members must meet qualification criteria.

Qualifications

Hold an active license in the state of MN to Serve on our Disaster Health Services, Mental Health, or Spritual Care Teams. Inquire about License specifics if interested.
