This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Disaster Cycle Services (DCS) department. This is a 100% remote (volunteer-from-home) position. This volunteer role supports Current Operations by reviewing the daily reporting of ongoing operations.

- Review current operations Service delivery plans and compare to the 5266 that is published daily.
- Monitor the National Sheltering System [NSS] shelter counts form ongoing operations and inform the Current Ops. team of any concerns.
- Review the Incident Action Plans and Situation Reports of each ongoing operation for concerns.
- If any concerns arise inform the current Ops. team and make contact with the DRO for clarity.
Length of Appointment
One year appointment, renewable annually based on satisfactory performance of the position.
Time Commitment
Approx. 4 hours per day; with required availability from 3am to 7am EST.
Qualifications
- Reliable access to resources needed to volunteer 100% virtually
- Available 3am to 7am EST daily with the exception of weekends, REQUIRED
- Experience with Red Cross Disaster Cycle Services [DCS], REQUIRED
- Computer skills and access to computer, REQUIRED
- Ability to maintain and frequently monitor a Red Cross email address, REQUIRED
- Dedicated and disciplined team member
- Willingness to become familiar with current disaster relief operations
- Strategic thinking and analytical skills, PREFERRED
- Willingness to comply with current public health and Red Cross policies
