NHQ:IT - Humanitarian IT - Volunteer Connection User Support Specialist

This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Information Technology (IT) team. This is a 100% remote (virtual/volunteer from home) opportunity.Help fellow Red Cross volunteers and employees with common Volunteer Connection questions and technical troubleshooting. Use your friendly customer service skills along with your knowledge of Volunteer Connection to ensure all users get the support they need in day-to-day and urgent Red Cross mission tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Volunteer Connection users with troubleshooting application issues.
  • Teach Volunteer Connection users about new features or enhancements.
  • Identify high impact issues to resolve in future updates.
  • Advocate for members on issues that would improve the user experience or administrative efficiency.



  • Advanced administrative Volunteer Connection knowledge required
  • Basic understanding of either Volunteer Services, Disaster Cycle Services, and/or Biomed business practices.
  • Comfortable with technology and various computer operating systems or internet browsers
  • Customer service experience
  • Ability to prioritize and quickly resolve issues
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Required to have access to a computer and dependable Internet access.
  • Required to have access to a telephone for occasional phone calls necessary for training and updates
  • Resume is required.
  • Willingness to comply with current public health and Red Cross policies.

Time Commitment

6 - 10 hours per week
Need to have some availability M-F during business hours 9-5pm (any time zone)
