Field: Tournament of Roses Parade First Aid Station Member

Rose Parade First Aid Station Members help support and serve the community and general public during the Tournament of Roses Parade by providing first aid response and relief (within ARC First Aid Station Guidelines and Standing Orders) including pre-parade activities of float decorating and Bandfest, band formation, the main parade event, band disbanding, and post-parade float viewing.

Key Responsibilities

  1. During the Annual Tournament of Roses Parade on Jan 1, 2022 provide first aid response and relief
  2. Attend all required trainings, meetings, briefings, etc Dec - Jan
    1. Orientation Dec 4, 2021
  3. Training requirements must be met prior to Dec 1, 2021 (See Training Section)
  4. Support the Rose Parade team in any other function as needed

Training

Minimum certification in one of the following:

  • American Red Cross First Aid and CPR
  • American Red Cross Responding to Emergencies
  • American Red Cross Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Aid
  • American Red Cross Lifeguarding
  • American Red Cross Red Cross Emergency Medical Responder (Desired)
  • CA State Licensure or certification at or above the Emergency Responder level (EMT-1 or higher)
  • AHA Healthcare Professional BLS allowed if certified with a CA state EMS license
  • Current Bloodborne Pathogens training
  • Certified training in the use of oxygen equipment and Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

 

Preferred:

  • Proficiency in the taking of vital signs
  • Training in radio protocol and usage of radios for communication
  • Completion of the LA Region Emergency Services Orientation or equivalent.
  • Ability to interface with various levels of management in multiple organizations on a professional level
  • Good reporting skills
  • Able to work with others including youth volunteers

 

Other:

  • Comfortable with COVID-19 environment
  • As of August 26, 2021, Vaccine preferred, mask required/mandated. 

Qualifications

  • Must be available Dec 4, 2021 - Jan 1, 2022
  • Training must be met prior to Dec 1, 2021 (see Training Section)
  • Red Cross Authorized Driver
  • Comfortable with COVID-19 environment
  • As of August 26, 2021, Vaccine preferred, mask required/mandated.
