Thank you for your interest in the American Red Cross!
Beginning July 1, 2015, the state of Pennsylvania is requiring all employees and volunteers who have direct contact, as defined by the statute, with children under the age of 18, to complete additional background screening to ensure the safety of minors.
While we understand this second phase of screening may take several weeks to finalize, please note that your volunteer placement with the American Red Cross is contingent upon the successful completion of these three additional clearances required by the State of Pennsylvania.
