Family Preparedness Day RSVP

Family Preparedness Day 2026

Are you and your family prepared for the unexpected?

Join the American Red Cross for Family Preparedness Day, an engaging and interactive event designed to help families build the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to prepare for emergencies and disasters.

Date: Saturday, August 1, 2026
Time: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Location: American Red Cross Warehouse, 5600 K St, Apt D, Commerce, CA

Through preparedness presentations, hands-on activities, and a tour of the Red Cross warehouse, families will learn practical steps they can take to prepare for emergencies, create a family emergency plan, understand what to do before, during, and after a disaster, and identify the essential supplies every household should have on hand.

The highlight of the event will be the opportunity for families to build and take home their own disaster preparedness kit, giving them the tools and resources needed to put their preparedness plans into action.

Whether you are new to preparedness or looking to enhance your family's emergency plan, this event offers something for everyone. You'll also have the opportunity to meet Red Cross volunteers and staff, learn more about disaster preparedness efforts in your community, and explore ways to stay engaged with the Red Cross mission.

Family Preparedness Day is open to adults, youth, and children. We encourage families to attend together and leave with the knowledge, resources, and preparedness kit needed to help keep their household safer during emergencies.

Space is limited. Register today and take an important step toward building a more prepared, resilient family and community.
