DCS: NC Region GAP Supervisor Promotion Exception Request Form

Introduction

This form is utilized to support GAP Supervisor Position Promotion Exception requests within the NC Region and will be reviewed by the Disaster Workforce Engagement_Leadership Development Team. Please use this form ONLY to request a Supervisor Promotion Exception review when responders do not meet the standard deployment criteria:

  • Had at least one Work Performance Evaluation with recommendation to promote, OR had at least two 'Satisfactory' Work Performance Evaluations from Disaster Relief Operation (DRO) deployment(s) in the relevant Group/Activity/SA.
  • NOTE
    • To be a qualified requester, you will have to hold at least Supervisor position in the GAP you will recommend the responder for.
    • This Exception Request form does not apply to RES/DAT/SV and RES/DAT/MN due to lack of deployment opportunity. For RES/DAT/SV and RES/DAT/MN, please use the NC Region Responder GAP & Specialty Track Update Request Form to request a promotion qualification review.

  • Effective leadership and teamwork (ability to provide direction and oversight to activities/tasks and to create a work environment in which people are empowered, dedicated to service excellence and held accountable).

  • Technical skill & knowledgeable about supervisory tools and reports

In the box below, indicate why the responder is a strong candidate for supervisor promotion by providing an example/examples of how the responder has demonstrated:

  • Complex problem solving (ability to anticipate problems as they arise and to take needed action so that flow and service delivery are not impacted).

Upon receipt of this Promotion Exception request, the Leadership Development Team will seek promotion approval from relevant parties (responder’s DPM and DPS, Group/Activity RPL(s),and Functional DPM)
