Description
USC Red Cross serves to harness the power of volunteers and donations to uphold the fundamental mission of the national Red Cross, which is to alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies. We provide training in health and safety, such as CPR and First Aid or Disaster Response, while utilizing members' newly learned skills in the field. We strive to uphold the objective of providing as many trained volunteers as possible to be called as second responders in the event of a local house fire or disaster, ensuring that their training continues beyond the initial orientation and basic skills. We also focus on obtaining as many blood units as possible to be distributed throughout hospitals nationwide by holding competitive blood drives that uplift the school spirit and bring together the student population to work against a common opponent, such as UCLA or Notre Dame. With such an extensive array of volunteer work available for members, we regulate and provide guidance for student members so that they can fully integrate themselves into the framework of Red Cross.
