  • Description We strive to encourage our local community to engage in volunteer work and help others in need. Our purpose is to promote awareness of the American Red Cross services, as well as educate our community about health, safety, disaster preparedness, the importance of blood donations, and much more. We will be guided by the fundamental principles of the American Red Cross and its mission to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies. To do so, we will do our best to mobilize the power of local and student volunteers and the generosity of donors. The American Red Cross Club at UC Merced hopes to learn, practice, and exemplify humanitarian values through Red Cross mission-related service projects. We welcome and highly encourage all individuals from our surrounding community to partake in our club events, meetings, and any volunteering opportunities. This builds a sense of community, creates possible life-long bonds, and enhances social awareness. In the end, not only does volunteering and joining our branch of the Red Cross help develop skill sets/career experience, but also gives back to our community and others who are less fortunate.
